My name is Mazda Kahnamuyipour. I am a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and counselor practicing in midtown Toronto near Dufferin and St. Clair.
I completed the Post Graduate Program of Training and Supervision in Gestalt Psychotherapy as well as the Advanced Gestalt Leadership Program at the Gestalt Institute of Toronto. Throughout this training program I have done intensive hours of personal development, working with groups and individuals. In order to help and support my clients in their personal growth I also continue to educate and challenge myself through further training in Gestalt as well as other schools and approaches to psychotherapy such as Mindfulness, Emotional Focus Therapy and Relational Life Therapy. I find these modalities complementary to the Gestalt approach and ongoing training essential to a dynamic therapy experience. I would also like to emphasize the importance of the personal development component of my training, which I believe has enabled me to appreciate each clients’ process and challenges. I work with both individuals and couples in my private practice, and am committed to building a client-therapist relationship on a strong foundation of inclusion, trust, compassion, challenge and support.
I see both English speaking as well as Persian (Farsi) speaking clients in my private practice.
I am a member of the Ontario Association of Consultants, Counsellors, Psychometrists and Psychotherapists (OACCPP) and the Canadian Association of Psycho-dynamic Therapy (CAPT) and I abide by their Code of Ethics.
